Overall Review: Our hearts skip a beat whenever a fashion house known for exclusively creating womenswear, ventures into the realm of menswear. Carolina Herrera, an iconic American fashion house, presented an extraordinary resort collection that reignited our love for fashion. Inspired by Brazil and its vibrant joy and sensuality, the collection showcased the brand’s creative prowess and colorful vision.
The collection featured an array of vibrant, lightweight, and flowy dresses, drawing inspiration from the vibrant houses in Favela Rio and the majestic Macaw parrots, which were applied to a bolero jacket and mini skirt. The collection also includes pieces with polka dots that felt basic and unappealing, seemingly out of place within the collection. On the other hand, a black fringe tube top with a matching skirt exuded a fun and sexy vibe, drawing inspiration from the lively spirit of the Rio Carnival. Hints of pink were incorporated into the collection as well, with a light pink chiffon halter dress and a halter gown featuring a layered tulle skirt, reminiscent of the signature style of Giambattista Valli.

Although the women's pieces were undoubtedly stunning, it was the men's collection that truly captured our attention. The pinstriped suit, an oversized long-sleeve shirt paired with matching trousers, and an all-black double-breasted blazer with coordinating shorts showcased a sense of simplicity and comfort. We really appreciate the fact that the house included menswear as part of their resort collection, and we hope that in the future, Carolina Herrera will finally do a menswear fashion show.
